The statement bag.

When I saw this bag, I fell in love with it.
I started to talk myself out of it, saying it was too small…
Normally I tend to go for plain looking, black or tan, over-sized bags.
But a smaller bag, means carrying around less junk, that I really do not need.
I was sick of lugging around a huge handbag on my shoulder everywhere I go.The statement bag I emptied out the contents of my old handbag, I realised that I don’t need four different lipsticks, a zillion-trillion receipts, a humongous bottle of perfume and other junk. (I think a chocolate bar wrapper made it in there and a pot of sweet and sour sauce from Mcdonalds, wow… definitely not necessities.
This bag is the perfect size for my essentials, not to mention it is so beautiful for going into Spring and Summer, look at the detail in the embroidery… I love that it can be used as a clutch, or a shoulder bag.ysl
From now on, it’s just the one lipstick I promise! One mini-sized bottle of perfume, a nail file, my compact mirror, some chewing gum and instead of carrying around a huge purse that I really don’t need (I rarely carry cash on me!) I just use my small, slim-line Whistles card holder and of course my iPhone.fifi lapin nail fileWould you ever think about down-sizing and decluttering your day to day handbag?
My right shoulder is certainly grateful, that’s for sure.
Here’s hoping I can keep up just taking the bare essentials everyday, time will tell…

I am absolutely loving this embroidery floral trend from jeans, to jackets, to handbags.
What do you guys think of my new bag? I later realised it was limited edition so for £25 I just had to!

Feel free to shop the post below :)…

Trust me, I also love embroidery. I recently posted a post on my blog about a backpack with embroidery, I’m telling myself I don’t need it but I really do want it haha.

This bag reminds me of a lemon print Dolce & Gabbana bag that I’ve lusted for from afar! I always try to downsize, but I usually have a bigger bag for a school, and then if I’m out for something else, I usually have my camera, so I need a bag big enough for that! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

This is such a cute bag! It’s not personally my style – I like plain bags that go with literally everything – but if I were to splurge, I’ll get something like this 🙂

This really is a gorgeous bag and I’ve used the same concept with my wallet… I’ve downsized to a card holder so now I don’t have dozens of cards from stores that I carry around with me. Makes it so much easier. The hard part is the original downsizing aspect but once you do it you wonder why you ever kept all that junk with you!

Such a gorgeous bag! I need to declutter as well, I have a huge purse but like you, I rarely ever have any cash, just loads of cards! Haha, so I definitely don’t need it! xx
