As you may (or may not know) I am under 5ft tall, or should I say short?! I thought I would put a little post together on the best stores for petite girls to shop at, In my opinion anyways. I love being short, it’s never bothered me whatsoever… but shopping can be a pain as I’m sure extra tall girls also know! I mean jeans and trousers are great but they usually need rolling or taking up and those ripped knee jeans that are really in right now, well the rips just don’t reach my knees more like my ankles haha! Forever rolling or shoving up long shirtsleeves, buying oversized anything just isn’t an option as I’ll usually look like I’m drowning in fabric and as for Maxi dresses and skirts, when will that trend end?! Here’s a list of shops where I find some petite fashion gems for myself!
Jeans
River Island – they do short length jeans and extra short (hallelujah, no rolling up!)
Topshop – their petite jeans are also great especially leigh and jamie jeans.
Very – Offer some great branded petite options.
ASOS – I love their jeggings, but I’ve found their petite jeans aren’t usually short enough (for me anyways!)
Shoes
River Island – stock some shoes in a size 2.
New Look – also go down to a 2 online and in-store .
Next Kids section – I find some fab shoes here (often way cheaper than adults too, bonus!)
ZARA – Also go down to a size 2, but I’ve noticed these sell out super fast sadly!
DUNE – have shoes and boots available in size 2.
Tops
ASOS – A huge selection to choose from, from formal to loungewear, to t-shirts.
Topshop – So good to know they usually do most items also in petite.
Coats and Jackets
New Look Kids – Often the same as adults, yet shorter length, shorter sleeves and cheaper in price!
Miss Selfridge petite – Always a gorgeous selection of coats and jackets in the winter.
Workwear
Dorothy Perkins – Stock some lovely workwear including petite pencil skirts, jumpers and dresses.
Wallis – their petite range has some lovely formal trousers, shirts and dresses.
Knitwear
ZARA kids – I find that items with the age 14-15 is similar to a petite size 8.
ASOS – their knitwear is usually a great fit also. No drowning in jumpers or cardigans here.
New Look Kids – again I often find some lovely knitwear here age 14 or 15.
Going out
BooHoo – Stock a great selection of going out dresses and clothes, often cheap too!
Miss Selfridge – Offer a great range of petite going out dresses, skirts and playsuits.
Topshop – I’ve often bought many party, occasion, and christmas (night out) dresses here.
So theres my list on where I find the best petite items for me, if you have any shops to add let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions or recommendations to add 🙂

I’m gonna check these out cuz I’m just 5 ft. Thank you!
I love this list, I didn’t know any of those shops did a size 2! I’m 2 and a half so I buy a lot of shoes in Russell and Bromley who do my size or I get away with smaller fitting 3’s, Dune is always good and Zara too! Great post, defo going to check out some kids coats, I am forever having to roll up my sleeves! xx
Topshop Leigh jeans are amazing!! I’, 5 ft haha 🙂
I’ll have to check out Topshop as I didn’t know they have a Petite section, I rarely venture in there.
Another good place for Petite trousers is Next, they fit so well!

I get my petite jeans from either Dorothy Perkins or M&S, but definitely agree that DP is amazing for petite workwear! If people are also looking for petite sportswear, I’d recommend the kids section of Nike outlets – I have bought my best trackie bottoms from their junior boys section and they are so so comfy! x
I find that the ASOS petite trousers are still far too long, the only place I go for jeans is Topshop. I also get my loafers from Russell & Bromley kids section as they do a european seize 35 there. So much cheaper! ASOS also do size 2 shoes which is a life saver.
I also buy all my trainers from the kids section as they’re so so much cheaper from there. At least that’s the upside to having such tiny feet!

Thank you for this post! So helpful for us short girls, I’m 21 and 5’2 and I hate it, my height doesn’t bother me but everyone thinking I’m under the age of 16 does aha!
Thank you so much!! This was so helpful, definitely saving this page for suture reference 😛

I’m hearing you. I’m only just over 5ft and also a size 14 so to fit my squishy bits every thing is always pretty long! Yes and maxi skirts are like maxi tents!

I never used to like Topshop – I’m petite but curvy and I didn’t feel like anything in there was made in my size, but in the last year they have outdone themselves – lovely to see a post dedicated to us dinky ones! x

I’m also under 5ft and totally agree with your choice of shops especially Miss Selfridge for party dresses and New Look kids for trousers etc. I will take a closer look at Zara Kids for knitwear this winter. Thanks for the tip.
Love this post! I’m 4″11 so this post is perfect for me! I find that MissGuided have some pretty clothes for us little ones!

I’m 5’6 but I still try and get away with the petite playsuits and dresses from Miss Selfridge if I can… their petite stock is much nicer than their standard range! x
