goodbye august, hello september

I find it a little crazy that august is coming to an end, it kind of feels like the year just started, or is that just me? The nights have slowly started drawing in, I noticed it was getting very dark just before 9pm last night, which means autumn is definitely on its way! Here’s what I’ve been up to in the last week of august…

august memories1. I love these floral oven gloves that I picked up at the weekend. I mean if essential household items can be cute and floral…then why not, in my opinion anyways!

2. Drool. Ben and Jerry’s core ice creams, these are just too good. They are also currently on offer in Tesco, hence the double purchase *insert pig emoji here* The salted caramel one is absolutely divine, mixed with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, with a few brownies thrown in for good measure mmm. I also love the cookie core one, but in my opinion chocolate always wins.

3. I spotted ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ on offer, so I decided to buy it along with some american sweet goodies and have a pamper night. However you have been warned, you will cry at this film, so good but so sad.

4. Spot the Oscar. I had just brought one basket of washing in and was currently hanging out another when out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a certain sausage watching what I was doing! He is just so cute, I adore his cheeky personality.

5. Gifts and fairy lights, in a way I’m sort of glad august is almost over as I do love autumn and its cosy nights, I just wish we had a bit more of a summer, with a lot less rain, but that’s England for you!

6. You may have seen my blog post on these super cute candles, I am so excited for pumpkin lattes, hot chocolates galore, and autumn themed candles.

7. Tom bought a wood burner at the weekend, so we lit it up, sat around it and toasted some marshmallows and sausages, such a perfect summer evening.

8. However, then it started to rain, so we moved undercover, it was so lovely listening to the rain on the roof, being surrounded by the fire and fairy lights, who cares about a bit of rain?

9. I just had to share this picture with you. We put a damp towel on Oscar to try to keep him cool. I honestly thought he’d have it off within two minutes and probably drag it around the garden. However he just sat there like this for 20 minutes, he must have loved it, what a cutie.

I hope you’ve all had a lovely august, are you excited for autumn to arrive?

I’m excited for autumn too tbh! Love those cosy evenings it brings. Oscar is looking cute as ever! Btw, have you ever tried making your own bubble tea? I’ve tried once but the ‘bubbles’ took ages to boil (like 2 hours!) I wonder what I was doing wrong! x

I’m Beginning to miss summer already!! Although a fresh start in college is definitely looked forward to; the long, warm summer nights and the train back home from the beach whilst the sun is setting with some of the most important people in my life, will be some of my favourite nights for a long while… This summer has definitely been the best yet but roll on September and cozy candles and blankets by the fire!!x

I am very excited for autumn to come. I can see the first signs starting to appear in nature too, not only is the sun starting to set at an earlier hour but some of the tree’s leaves are turning to beautiful shades of red and orange already !

September for me means that spring is just around the corner. I love autumn but hate winter so I cannot wait for the change!

  21. August 26, 2015 / 7:03 am

Autumn has to be my favourite time of year. Hot chocolates and long walks all wrapped up, then coming home to warm up in front of the fire. It is a little sad that the nights have started to draw in already though. It seems like Summer only just began!

  22. August 26, 2015 / 7:16 am

I cannot believe August is coming to an end! That is insane! I feel like Summer just started not too long ago and it just completely flew by :O I don’t really want Autumn to come so soon but I’m sure when it arrives I’ll be all pumped for Halloween and pretty Fall jackets and boots 🙂 I need to make the best out of my remaining Summer holiday now! <3

I remember thinking: how is it August 4th already? And now it’s August 26! It’s going so fast. I can feel the change in the air though, that lovely subtle shift in the wind that says, it’s still summer, but I’m here to remind you autumn is on its way.

Not sure I’m ready to say goodbye to the summer just yet, seems to take forever to come back but I do enjoy cosy autumn nights in.
