1. I’m always pulling and picking the mascara off my eyelashes. I really need to stop doing this!
2. I pick at my lips, I think it’s a nervous thing of mine? No wonder they’re always so chapped.
3. As a (very young) teenager I attempted to shave my legs, dry. As you can imagine this didn’t end too well.
4. I try to wear false eyelashes but they either look wonky or irritate me too much so I end up pulling them off half way through the night this always gets some strange looks.
5. Me and my mum went to a little spa day when I was thirteen. I wanted to try a spray tan. It looked great.. until I woke up and I was 5 shades darker. My whole family called me an Oompa Loompa for weeks on end.
6. I’d love to be able to wear false nails, but I might as well not have hands when I wear them! I can’t literally type, text, open or do anything!
7. Women on make up counters scare me. I find them so intimidating and try to avoid them at all costs I’d prefer to match my own foundation (they always match me too dark anyways!)
8. I bought a box hair dye and unbeknown to me someone had switched the bottle in the box without me realising. Instead of having lighter blonde hair. It turned out bright orange. Gutted wasn’t the word. (I always double check the bottle not just the box label now, you should too!)
9. Yet Another hair disaster of mine. When we we’re on holiday abroad once I used a blonde brightening shampoo.. being the water baby I am this was a big mistake. The chlorine in the pool turned it bright green. It seems I’m forever destined to have bad hair days.
10. *whispers* Sometimes, just sometimes I still use make up wipes. You know, on very lazy days! Apparently this can be seen as a small sin in the beauty blogging world as I’ve heard they’re bad for your skin?!
This post was inspired by a embarrassing family photograph.. that I found tonight. Yeah, you guessed it the oompa loompa one. What was the woman thinking? I look so so dark. As you can probably tell I’d make a rubbish beauty blogger.. Do you have any cringeworthy or embarrassing beauty confessions? Please let me know in a comment π

Haha, I love this! I always pick at my lips too … I guess it's the same as having to pick at my nails! And #10, are people not supposed to use makeup wipes?
I love these sorts of posts, they always make me realise I'm not the only one whose completely lax when it comes to strict beauty regimes! I pick my eyelashes too, it's such a terrible habit that I just can't break and it's lead to having sparse lashes, must stop!! x
If you are ever in York then pop to the Clinique counter in Debenhams π I promise you will not leave looking orange π Amazing post as always. xxx
Haha this is such a good post I once shaved my legs dry too they were covered in a really nasty shaving rash for days! xx

I really love this kind of posts! Haha it's so funny π I pick my lips too! It's such a nervous and annoying habit and I really need to stop!
Great post!

I pick my lashes all the time, they're so short and sparse now! π Also I used your creme egg muffin recipe the other day, and added some extra bits to make them really look like eggs, please take a look, think you'll like them! π http://chloevictoriaguest.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/creme-egg-muffins.html

Oh this post is so cute haha π I can say I definitely have always chapped lips, always pick my spots and sometimes don't take big care of my toe nails who always look like mens' ones, no nail varnish or anything haha π Xx
hahah this made me happy, I ALWAYS pick at my eyelashes but sometimes I go a step too far and end up with little bald patches.. Very attractive.
Great post! X
Oh god I never even thought about checking the inside of hair dye boxes! They should seal them up!
And I dont use anything but make up wipes, am I a bad human?! I dont get it π

i have a love hate realtionship with false eyelashes, i always look like a hooker when i have a berry lip on.
Women at the make up counters scare me too! π And the dry leg shaving thing …OOOWWWWW i was literally cringing when i read it! Yowza. x
Am I committing some dreadful sin by using make up remover wipes? I didn't even know! (what's worse is that I use baby wipes because they're cheaper) What's so bad about make up wipes?
Great post and I will forever check the box and bottle of hairdye I buy from now on!!
Victoria
All of these sound like the type of things that would happen to me, I'm not the smartest when it comes to beauty-type-things!
I've had a similar experience with fake tan but the day before my prom! Not good!

xo
i'm intimidated by women at makeup counters too! and i also pick at my lips, it's such an annoying habit haha

I pick my lips when I'm nervous and I regret it so much when I go to apply lipstick the next day – you're not alone! x
Well now we HAVE to see the oompa loompa photo. Also, *whispers* I sometimes use make up wipes too.
So good to see I'm not the only person who picks their lips, I do it all the time! Makeup counter women are so intimidating but when I'm in MAC I ask to try loads of different items so they end up practically doing a whole face of makeup for me!

This is so funny, I think everyone does some of these things though! (I definitely do!) xxx

Hehe love this post so much! I've never been brave enough to venture into fake tanning as I'm so pale I just don't imagine it would ever look natural. I'm petrified of fake lashes too! I always use make-up wipes but I do use other products with them π Really love your new layout!
Love Holly x
I love this post the first 3 i have to agree with so much, i once tried dying my own hair i came into work and it was that bad my manager suggested i have the next day of to fix it! I will never dye my own hair again especially blonde. x
I have an endless list of horror stories regarding my hair although the worst thing was the first time I used spray on fake tan – I used a whole can and not only was I the colour of a satsuma, I managed to spray my entire bathroom and all my white towels.
Brilliant post, loving the blog as always! xoxo

Make Up Counter women scare the hell out of me too! I'm also guilty of using face wipes…I can be so lazy! I can't believe someone swapped the dye bottles, that's cruel, I'll definitely be checking mine in future! Great post π

I love these sort of posts! Probably they make me realise that I'm not the only person that strange things happen to.
I'm not gonna lie, I still shave my legs dry sometimes, when I'm in a great rush. I know I will be in pain, but about once a year I still do it and always regret it so much!
I also definitely also pick my lips. I try to remember to absolutely slather them with lipbalm because that stops me from doing it – for about 3 minutes.
I hope you're having a nice evening π
Oompa loompa dopady do! Oh I think I'm gonna listen to this now!
I once went to get my fringe cut at a hair salon and the hairdresser cut it like a square, but it was weird, as mine was not doing my whole forehead. I dont know how to explain it really but I had like a third of a squared fringe!
haha I love your post. and I know what you mean about make up counter women, I'd rather just do everything myself. your hair looks really nice at the moment, not green or anything π xx
Lullaby For Pies
Such a good post Becky π 2 & 3 made me smile as I too have the terrible habit of picking my lips (as gross as that is), and I was 13-14 I did no.3…I had ugly legs for a week!

I tried to strip my hair colour at home once and it went bright orange, I had to wear a beany to the shop to buy a new hair dye to cover up the mess I had made…. the worse thing is I did this twice, obviously not learning from my first mistake! x
It's such a nice read – I love getting to know the girl behind the blogger π I can't wear fake nails and fake eyelashes either…I wish I could but I always think I look ridiculous in them! Natural is better anyways! x
so hilarious!!

that post was really funny haha. sometimes I do bad things like going to sleep without taking my skin make-up off and I feel like I shouldn't be allowed to be a woman. π
Loved this post!
I guess we all have our beauty issues, haha.

I love this post, it's nice to know what we're all human! I just realised that I was picking my lips whilst I was reading this post haha. It's really terrible but I almost never remove my eye makeup, unless I'm about to put it on freshly! Eeeeek x

hah, the name of this post is just too cool π and truly useful advices π xx
Love this! So many of them have happened to me too, you're not alone! xx
Ha! I just laughed out loud and woke my bf up. I shaved my "moustache" off when I was about 11. This is probably why I actually have to invest a lot of time on facial hair removal now. You live and learn! x Becky

and I'm rubbish as leaving my mascara alone, its just so pickable aha!
Lol love this post! I'm with alot of the other comments in that I did the exact same thing and shaved my legs dry it was hideous lol also tried to due my hair blonde once when I was younger, I have naturally dark hair so you can imagine how we'll this went π bright ginger, not even a nice ginger lol
Prettybugblog.blogspot.com
I think more than a few of us are guilty of these! I bite my lip when I am stressed, the bf hates it, makeup counter girls scare the life out of me too, they just won't accept that I am pale and I like being that way!
xx Lisette Loves xx
I nibble at my lips when I'm stressed or nervous, and they are forever chapped! I've become very good at avoiding the women at makeup counters after having been matched poorly several times (I'm too pale for most of their foundations, and yet they push them on me in an attempt to make a sale.) I feel guilty when I only buy one thing and they've spent time with me.
I nibble at my lips if they're even the slightest bit chapped or peeling, which only makes them worse! And I use makeup wipes on lazy days too, I just follow with a toner to restore the balance. Better than not removing makeup at all!

This could quite easily have been written by me! I'm such a bad mascara licker, and it looks disgusting I'm sure, my husband hates it, I'm as bad with nail varnish, fake nails, lash extensions – if I can pick it I will.
poor thing! green hair, orange hair and an oompa loompa… xxx
I pull at my lashes and eyebrows, I sometimes shave my underarms in the bathroom using hand soap if Ive forgotten and Im meant to be going out. I pick at hairs at the back of my neckline, I bite my nails and lips and i never, ever, wash my make up brushes! x
http://rosella-beauty.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/confessions-of-beauty-blogger.html π linked back to you as well xx
Haha so funny! π But there are very bad things. π liefs Milou
http://www.lounabeauty.nl
I do so many of these, pulling my mascara off my eyelashes, sometimes using make up wipes and biting my lips! Luckily I've never tried to shave my legs dry, I can imagine the pain!
http://emilylikessmakeup.blogspot.co.uk/

I'm always picking mascara off my eyelashes too :s and chlorine turning hair green has happened to me too- also on holiday so I had to have it for 2 weeks before coming home and sorting it out!

Great blog post. I too find the staff on make up counters, scary. Only Bobbi Brown have given me the best products for my skin when I decided to brave their make up artists.

I do the same with my eyelashes, I don't know why I do it but it is one habit that I haven't been able to break.

This post made me laugh so so so much, especially that one about the hair dye – I had a similar instant! I bought a 'warm brown' hair dye.. only for it to turn my hair fluorescent orange. 3 years later, and my hair still has a ginger tinge because of it, haha!
xxxx
I still use make up wipes on lazy days too!
And I've had orange hair on purpose before now xD. But I'm a bit weird like that
I love this hahah! I'm not very kind to my lips either, I bite them. I also pick my nail polish off as soon as I get a tiny chip which is an awful habit! xxx

I attempted dry shaving once…ouch.

I don't like the women on makeup counters either and I too, sometimes use a makeup wipe if i'm feeling incredibly lazy! Loved this post xxx

love this post! I do the first three of these! And don't feel guilty about makeup wipes, that's all i ever use to take off my makeup! xxxxxx
this is such a fun post. Definitely tried dry shaving before and we totally agree with number 7. And of course number 10 is one of our sins too. Surely many people secretly do this π Love your blog!!! xxxxx http://citywhisperss.blogspot.co.uk/
Hahaha, I pick my lips when I'm anxious.
I can't even imagine the pain you suffered dry shaving your legs!!!
