Tom and I were very lucky to be invited to stay on The Quantum Of The Seas. The third biggest cruise ship in the world. I never really saw myself enjoying a cruise… but after a short stay on The Quantum of The Seas, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Who knew you could have so much fun at sea? We were constantly being blown away by the beauty of the ship, the sheer amount of things to do and how much we really, really loved it. so much that we’re now even considering a cruise next year.. All i have to say about our trip is wow, here’s what we got up to whilst on board.. This is the cruise vacation reinvented.
We arrived at Southampton docks and could see the beautiful ship from the car window. Checking in was quick, simple and easy. We had checked in online prior to arriving and we’re greeted by friendly staff who took our bags and told us we could track them via the app, to see when they’d be in our room. We boarded the ship and headed up to deck 10 to our room, a balcony with a beautiful sea view. The photo doesn’t do the room justice, large, spacious and nice modern decor, along with a super comfy bed, always a bonus! There were also wrist bands on the bed, these are used as room keys and to make purchases onboard the ship such as spa packages or if you felt like going shopping (obviously I did)
After freshening up a little, we headed down to see what the ship had to offer. The first picture is of the ships promenade, there’s a bar, a patisserie, a pizza parlour, the bionic bar (more on that later) and much more things to see and do. Everything felt like pure luxury, wherever we were on the ship. The second picture was a corridor on the ship, it played enchanting music and had quaint paintings of woodland creatures behind the glass panes, just absolutely beautiful. There was always something to look at.
We got dressed and headed to The Grande restaurant for dinner. We had booked a reservation at 7:00pm via the app were seriously blown away by the beautiful decor and the staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming. It felt like nothing was too much trouble, everyone was always smiling and saying Hello to us all the time… Little things like this really make a huge difference I think! We were greeted with glasses of wine and champagne, napkins placed on our laps, it was such a special meal I had the Lamb shank and it tasted amazing, I also had chocolate cake for afters. (you know me not one to pass up cake!)
The Quantum Of The Seas offers dynamic dining. There’s 18 restaurants on board, something to suit absolutely everyone. There’s no required formal nights, no set dining rooms or dining times, just tons of flexibility and choice. We loved the freedom of being able to dress up
super swish formal one night for The Grande restaurant and then for lunch head to Johnny rockets, the burger joint onboard the ship for a burger and a shake. There’s an American Grill, an Asian cuisine restaurant, Japanese cuisine, a hot dog house, and lots more meaning lots of choice for everyones tastes, for all ages too! We loved the fact we could sit in the bar, listening to live piano or just chill out on our balcony in the sun (yes, in november) with a Corona and lavender daiquiri mmm!
We were amazed by the amount of activities and things to experience onboard. From Rock Climbing (on the top deck, eek!) IFly, a sky diving simulator, dodgems, a huge Xbox room, a casino, A Spa, watching a movie from the swimming pool or hot tub, iFly, the worlds first sky diving simulator at sea. seriously cool stuff. Cruising with The Quantum Of The Seas is next level crazy. The Bionic Bar was amazing, we watched a presentation by Jason Bradbury from the gadget show, robotic bar tenders who make your drinks? amazing. Spot me in my super flattering jumpsuit attempting to ‘sky dive’ in the iFly! It was fun but certainly a LOT harder than it looks. The north star is a glass viewing pod that takes you 300ft above sea level, as you can imagine the views were spectacular.
We had such a lovely time together, it was so nice to be able to relax with a cocktail or you know casually go sky diving, so much stuff to do or you could just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. I may have made a little Chanel beauty purchase. p.s Gigantic chair or tiny girl?
I’m so grateful and feel so lucky to have had this opportunity, it was lovely to be invited and experience The Quantum Of The Seas. I was invited onboard but this is not a sponsored post. Just sharing my experience with you guys. After sailing on The Quantum of The Seas, and experiencing all it has to offer my view on cruise vacations has been changed forever. Talk about a game changer…
Cruising just got cool.
What do you guys think?
