When I get home, I have to change into my pyjamas, people who sit around the house in work clothes or skinny jeans how do you do it? I just can’t get comfortable at all. These tartan PJ’s were a set I bought recently from Primark, I love them, I think they’re so festive and most importantly they are comfy.
Then I like to light a candle (or three!) Tonight I am going to be burning ‘cosy by the fire’ from Yankee Candle* I love this scent, it is just so christmassy (is that even a real word?) I know this well smell as amazing when it’s burning as it does in the jar, with deep, rich scents of mixed ginger and orange it really does remind me of the scent of roasting chestnuts on an open fire, mmm.

I then put my hair up in a top-knot, just to get it all away from my face, it drives me nuts when I’m out and about especially if it’s windy! I take all of my make-up off usually with my Elemis cleanser, and lately I have been using this little mini REN skin care wake wonderful, night-time facial. You are supposed to apply it before bed and leave it on over night but I like to give my skin a little TLC when I get home, I love how lightweight it is but it really leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. Flakey skin, be gone!

With a some sort of festive CD blasting away in the background and possibly (definitely) singing along to WHAM I love to sit down and wrap presents, I really enjoying doing it, I somehow find it really relaxing and a little bit therapeutic… Just me?

Aren’t these Raymond Briggs Father Christmas gift tags just adorable? They were only 99p from The Range, and there’s a huge roll of them in lots of different yet all equally cute designs.

Once I have finished wrapping the presents, I like to paint my nails and apply a nice hand cream to keep them nice and soft. I will probably go over the top of this with a glitter polish too – it is christmas.

What is me time without chocolate? I have been loving Lindt lately, these salted caramel bars are dreamy… but I am hoping I get a stocking full of orange Lindt’s after trying them earlier in the year, I have fallen in love. I’m such a huge fan* of orange flavoured chocolate! *more like obsessed sorry not sorry. I will usually sit down with a hot chocolate to watch TV or a film at this point, and snuggle up with the dogs on the sofa.
That’s my christmas cosy night in routine, what did you think? How do you spend a cosy night in, during the winter? Only 8 sleeps until Christmas, I am so excited!

I love this! We have a similar routine. I have the cosy by the fire candle and I love it! Sophie xx

Your Christmas posts always make me feel so happy and festive! Your cosy night in routine for Christmas time is a lot like mine, I love wrapping presents too, it really helps me relax after a busy day!

I definitely agree about changing into pj’s! My husband will stay in his jeans and shoes and I’m like are you going somewhere? I can’t lounge unless I’m in comfy clothes! And that chocolate bar sounds delicious. Great post! XO -Kim

I can’t wait to have a super cosy night in once I’m back home. Uni accommodation just isn’t one for being all homey… Those pjs look so comfy, and I’m with you on the therapeutic present wrapping!

Your night-time routine sounds almost similar to mine! – as SOON as I get home from work and unpack everything, I turn into my sweats or PJs (like you, I can NOT stay in any work clothes; and skinny jeans are THE DEVIL). On go the comfy slippers and I like to watch some TV shows or a movie, light a candle and maybe later on, make some tea (or coffee), depending on my mood.
I think I kind of need that “Cosy By the Fire” Yankee Candle… 🙂

I’ve been wanting yankee candles forever now!
I want to do exactly this haha. Sounds bliss!

We have a very similar routine! Another vital step for me is taking out my contact lenses after wearing them for hours and popping my glasses on. I also can’t understand how some people stay in jeans/work clothes when they’re at home, I jump straight into my pjs and a hoody!

I usually have the same program, and I switch into comfy pj’s as soon as I get home too, as much as I love being well dressed and stuff, nothing beats the feeling of warm pj’s by going back home – xx
Love this post, it is very similar to my routine. Love your photos.
