After three weeks of travelling in the U.S without regular access to my emails (argh!) Whilst editing holiday photos I suddenly realised i my sleepy top-knot state I had been invited to meet the Charlotte Tilbury for the afternoon at Fenwicks, in Newcastle. I literally couldn’t believe it how lucky! So in my jet lagged state I hopped on a train with the lovely Megan Jane Lillie and we headed to the event. We were so excited to meet the queen of make up!

Once all of the (very excited!) bloggers had arrived, we were taken to a room just a couple of flights of stairs later ๐ ahem…and we walked in to this incredible table, I think I speak for everyone there when I say it was like being a child at Christmas *cue screaming*. I personally wanted to face dive into ALL of the make up, I mean just look at it. I loved the drop burgundy roses, the rose gold packaging and little starts dotted about the table similar to the one engraved on some of the products, so sweet!

After meeting the lovely girls and make up artists at the event, a photographing frenzy began. I din’t know where to look first, it was all amazing. Shortly Charlotte came into the room and introduced herself, the first thing that struck me was just how down to earth she was, the second was her sheer amount of passion for her brand, make up and most of all women. One of Charlotte’s quotes was ‘There is no such thing as an ugly woman’ this really struck a cord with me, because how many women stand in-front of a mirror each day and pull themselves apart, wanting to tweak and change their features wishing they looked like someone else. It’s really lovely to hear such a huge role model say that and mean it and believe it.

‘Easy to use, Easy to choose, Easy to gift’ is something that really stands out for me when it comes to products. There are 10 different ‘Get the look’ boxes, available inspired by certain celebrities such as Kate Moss for example in ‘The rock chick’ you get a gorgeous nude lipstick, a smokey eyeshadow quad, the feline flick eyeliner – making it easy to use, a box full of products dedicated to the look you are after. Easy to choose – as I know I prefer light, nude lip colours instead of rich reds, or berry tones, I quickly knew this ‘look’ was for me! Easy to gift – If I know my friend loves bronzed skin or a berry lip you know which look box would be great for them, it’s all made very easy, you don’t have to spend hours, obsessing at the counter, testing in non natural light, being baffled by shades etc and that is something I really love.

Charlotte also talked us through her skincare and oh boy, I sort of wish she hadn’t because my bank balance is about to take a big hit. If I hadn’t seen the effects for myself on my own skin, I probably wouldn’t have believed it just how good it was. I tested out some of Charlotte’s award winning ‘Magic cream’ moisturiser on my hand, after rubbing it in, my skin was glowing… my hand had had never looked so good, it looked healthy and glowing I was baffled and didn’t really expect to see a difference (oops) so that showed me. For my usual price range ‘Magic cream’ is expensive at ยฃ70.00 for 50ml normally I would steer clear of this price bracket but I will be saving up for this, for sure. Sorry bank balance, I need me some of this skincareย magic!
Another product that amazed me, was ‘supermodel body’ Charlotte applied it to just one of the girls arm’s she called it her celebrity limb trick and said it’s extremely popular on the red carpet. When you contour your nose and you use highlight down the centre to make it look slimmer, this is that in a tube for your limbs it contains a shitake extract which firms and tones the skin! It added a gorgeous highlight and sheen to the girls arm and her skin looked glowing within seconds of applying it, it dries almost instantly also. I can seriously only dream of the wonders this would do for my pins instant flattery in a tube! Charlotte said she wears this product down by the beach! I wish I had taken it on my travels now, doh!

It was a serious honour to sit and listen to Charlotte describe passionately her love for her brand, her products, listing ingredients, back stories to how ideas came about and how things were made, listening to how many awards her products have won. I could sit here for hours and ramble on and on (seriously lol) She mentioned a few new products or two, one which was ‘hot lips’ twelve lipsticks created by stealing the beauty DNA of incredible women such as Salma Hayek, Helena Bonham Carter, Cindy Crawford, Kim kardashian-West and more. Each lipstick shade pays a homage to the woman’s unique individual style.ย For the first two months, for every Hot lips lipstick bought ยฃ1 will be donated to the ‘women for women’ foundation. We were told that during the conflict in Bosnia 20 years ago, were women experienced horrendous tragedy, suffering and rape, women for women were there to help support these women, give them aid, restore their confidence, incredibly when these women were asked if there’s anything else they want that could help them in anyway at all, they replied with lipstick. “They wanted the snipers to know they were killing a beautiful, independent woman” I think it’s a perfect partnership, with Charlotte’s fierce passion for women and make up, these 12 iconic super star celebrities have given their names to the lipsticks in order to empower women everywhere and create awareness.ย
I want to say a huge thank you to Charlotte herself obviously, Lauren from OPR and Fenwicks Newcastle for having me and making my entire week, I left the event feeling so inspired and it was so lovely seeing such a role model, who is so kind, funny, passionate about her brand, the ingredients in them and also just a really down to earth woman. I could have cried when we were lucky enough to choose a ‘get the look’ for ourselves, I chose ‘rock chick’ based on the beautiful Kate Moss.ย I can’t wait to show you them in another post. What are your favourite Charlotte Tilbury products?

What an incredible experience – I would have given my right arm to go to this, Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favourite makeup and skincare brands. I love their shadow quads and lipstick but recently invested in a pot of the Magic Eye cream and it’s the closest to a perfect eye cream that I’ve found so far. (There’s a review on my blog in my Spring Favourites if you want a peek!)

Oh how fun! Must have been such a nice experience.
What an amazing opportunity!! I love that she said no woman is ugly, It’s so sad how the majority of us feel so negative about ourselves. What a role model.

A Little Freckle
When in London in January we booked a make up session at Charlotte Tilbury at Covent Garden.
The look they done for me was amazing and I ended up buying the wonder cream, magic foundation, eye palette, lip gloss, powder and mascara.
I love all of it and have used most things most days.
I am now saving up for the night cream as I got a sample and that is amazing.
Looking forward to your blog post to see what you think.x
It was amazing being able to meet Charlotte, such a dream come true! Despite owning (and wanting) a lot of the Charlotte Tilbury range, I’d never looked at the Supermodel body product before but when she applied it to my pale skin, it looked so good! I feel like I need it for my holiday in the summer! xx

Wow what an awesome experience! I set foot in my first Charlotte Tilbury store a couple of weeks ago, and although the staff weren’t very helpful at all, it was lovely to see the products and I treated myself to an eye-shadow crayon. There was so much more I wanted to buy though, so I can imagine this event would have been amazing! I’ve got a sample of the Magic Cream, which I’m excited to try (although a little scared if I actually love it!) Love your photos too hun ๐
