I pre-ordered the iPhone 7 plus 32gb after waiting to upgrade since February. I previously had the iPhone 6 16gb on a 24 month contract; so I figured it would be worthwhile waiting for the new release before upgrading. When I saw it was only the iPhone 7 plus that had the dual camera, I couldn’t resist. I was pretty worried about the size as the jump from the 6 to the 7 plus is huge you can read my thoughts below! I have kept this review simple and wrote it from a simple, everyday user point of view, there will be no jargon here! 
Size:
I was really worried that I would struggle with the size of the iPhone 7 plus with my little hands, I was pleasantly surprised at just how quick I got used to it! I love the big clear screen, I have no problems using or texting on it (with two thumbs) and everything just looks even more clear, crisp and beautiful. Here is a size comparison below.
Battery life:
I use my iPhone a lot, and I mean a lot. Constant emails, tweeting, taking photo’s etc etc. Just opening Snapchat used to make my battery fall by 20% or sometimes just turn off completely. I cannot believe the battery on the iPhone 7 plus. I charged my phone at 10am yesterday morning from 1% to 100% 24 hours later after using it almost constantly it is still on 36% the next day (insane or what?!) I was so used to having to charge my iPhone 6 up to two sometimes three times a day it was basically a landline.
Camera:
The main reason I upgrade to the 7 plus, the dual lens camera. I take photos of everything, and I mean everything so the camera is important to me. The iPhone 7 camera now has image stabilisation, it lets in up to 50% more light as the aperture is now f/1.8. The front facing camera is now 7 megapixels and has true tone flash. The iPhone 7 plus has all of that and more… with the two lenses one is a wide angle 28mm 12 megapixel lens and the other is a 56mm 12 megapixel telephoto lens. This means you can zoom away without losing quality! On previous iPhones if you used the zoom you’d notice the image would be a lot less sharp. It is worth it for the depth of field, the bokeh alone is incredible I literally gasped, it’s that damn good. Apple will also be releasing a software update to make this even better. and here’s one in slightly lower lighting, you can see the bokeh and blurry background. Without any editing at all I am so impressed with the sharpness and clarity of the camera.
The removal of the headphone jack:
I know this bothered a lot of people, for me it isn’t a huge issue, it’s a little frustrating but not a massive issue for me in day to day life really. I assumed every iPhone 7 or 7 plus came with air-pods, the wireless headphones that everyone will probably lose in no time or at least I would anyways! Mine came with headphones, wired but you use a little adapter, which is pretty fiddly, and it ‘plugs in’ to the lightning port, the same as where you charge your phone.
Overall:
I am seriously impressed with the camera mostly, but also the new iOS is amazing, I love that you can now send GIF’s and stickers in iMessage as well as invisible in text messages which the receiver has to ‘scribble over’ with their finger to read, balloons appear for happy birthday messages etc, all so cool and we can finally delete app like ‘stocks’ hallelujah! I love the battery life and how fast, it is the size really wasn’t a problem for me at all in the end so in a nutshell I absolutely love this upgrade! I really want the iPhone 7 but was kinda put off by the fact there was no headphone jack. I’m glad you can use an adapter for headphones now, might have to reconsider!

I’m currently using the iPhone 6 – which i love.. but have been tempted by features of the 6s / 7.. in particular the front camera flash & longer battery life. The iPhone 7 does seem amazing & I think it’s something I’ll treat myself to once my contract ends in a few months!

The new camera also sold me, but your comments on battery life would be like icing on the cake. Wondering if you have had to buy new accessories, i.e. case and any comments you have on the extra niceties.

It looks gorgeous and that camera is definitely tempting but i listen to music on my phone with head phones almost constantly and its my main coping thing when i go out so the lack of a head phone jack really puts me off!
I have the phone myself and there’s an adapter plug inside the box when you open up the EarPods headphones. Don’t lose it, however they can be bought online or at a Best Buy or Radio Shack and if you have an Apple Store near you, whichI don’t…they sell it too.
I just don’t want to sacrifice charging the phone with using the headphones!
I did read about an adapter that lets you charge the iPhone 7 Plus and listen with the headphones too!
I haven’t found one yet, but I haven’t been looking too hard, either!

I’m actually so pleased and happy you wrote this review. I’m planning on buying the iphone7 plus as I’m saving from my job. I have debated this for about 3 weeks now and as I’m not old enough to have a contract in my own name I’m having to go out and buy it as a whole. I’m so happy you love the phone and it really makes me feel a lot more comfortable when thinking about this. I cannot wait to get my hands on it now. I treated myself to the rose gold iphone 7 plus too and I LOVE it!! The lack of headphone jack totally doesn’t bother me with the adapter and the headphones that were included and the battery life is incredible. Please, please, please tell us where you got the gorgeous peony wallpaper from… 🙂
