GHD platinum + festival review

I have been a fan of GHD for many years, so I was super excited to try their  new smart straightener meet the Platinum + professional styler (kindly gifted*) with ultra-zone plates; that predicts the thickness of hair whilst styling. Controlling and monitoring the temperature over 250 times a second (amazing) to adjust the heat as required meaning it won’t go over 185°C = up to 70% less breakage and 2 x less colour fade vs a styler working at 230°C. **vs naturally dried hair. Tailoring the temperature to suit your hairs personal needs. This is perfect for me; due to bleaching my hair in the past when using heat it can be prone to split ends, breakage and dryness. If you’re a fellow blonde you’ll know that it doesn’t always look as sleek, shiny and glossy as our dark-haired friends but these literally add a shine whilst styling.
I use these every single day to style my hair, either to straighten or create a nice wave or curl after blow drying for hairstyle how-to’s, tips and tricks check out this section of the GHD wesbite here. When using other straighteners in the past my hair felt frazzled and a little burnt on the very ends… these leave my hair feeling smooth and glossy. The platinum + does its job in just one stroke, I don’t have to go over the same section twice, super speedy styling without the damage.
I’m impressed by how quickly they heat up and are ready to use in just 20 seconds! Inside the box you also get a heat resistant zip bag making them easily portable. I am always bringing these to my boyfriends so the zip bag and heat protection plate in one is very handy. They also switch off automatically after 30 minutes of non-use which the worrier in me loves!
