The other day, I went up into my mum and dads loft to get a suitcase down. Exciting, I know. I totally forgotten that all of my childhood toys / books / games etc were stored up there. I had stumbled upon a goldmine of pure nostalgia. I was up there for a good hour, covered in dust re-living my childhood, it was SO much fun. I brought a few things down to show you, oh how I wish I could have showed you tons more stuff. If you were a fellow 90’s kid you might just remember some of these beautiesβ¦

Goosebumps
Oh I used to adore reading these books, there was a whole box full in the loft, jam packed with Goosebumps books. I even remember there being a TV show too, maybe on Nickelodeon? With the dog on a porch with those really, super believable green ‘demon’ eyes. Man, I miss Nickelodeon.

Polly Pocket
I smiled so much when I saw this, I dusted it off and it’s still pretty perfect. I couldn’t find Polly though, that was always the trouble with her being ‘pocket’ sized, you could never bloody find her. I used to have so many Polly pockets, the gold heart necklace version, the summer house version, ah…

My little pony
How can you ever forget the opening theme tune? ‘my little pony, my little pony’

Sabrina The Teenage Witch
This was a Nickelodeon classic, I used to love salem the cat, but I didn’t realise how witty and sarcastic he was until I was much older. I also used to collect the Sabrina’s Secrets magazine, you even got your very own Salem cat plush! He was in the loft too, perched proudly on a shelf.

Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls
I used to love my Cabbage patch kids ‘baby’ I’m sure I got this one Christmas and my parents battled the crowds in Toys R Us until they found one. Did anyone else remember them weirdly smelling of baby powder too?!

The Sega Mega drive (or should i say SEGAAAAAA)
My brother and I used to love playing this, Sonic, Micro Machines, The Lion King, James Pond, Super hang on, Streets of Rage, don’t tell me you didn’t say ‘SEGAAAAA’ when you read the title π

Sky Dancer Dolls
As much as I loved dolls like Barbie and Cindy, this made me burst out laughing when I found it. You used to perch on this huge post, made out of dolphins(?) it had a cord that you pulled and it flew, well sort of. I just remember launching it at anything I could, the wall, the sky, my brotherβ¦
Whilst I was in the loft I also found, my(very creepy) Furby, my ‘Baby All Gone’ doll with her food that smelt ‘just like real cherries’ A folder full of pokemon cards and POGS, it was so nice to remember some of the toys from my amazing childhood, it’s crazy to think these days kids have iPads, Apps, Mobile phones, Tv’s etc. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I had a lot of fun putting it together π

Love this post! And OMG I've been trying to remember the names of the Sky Dancer dolls FOREVER! I had so many of these, I think there was even a TV show?! And yep – totally flew them into every wall and window possible π xx

Oh man, I read 'It Came From Beneath The Sink!' until the pages fell out. And I totally remember having the Polly Pocket Gold Heart Necklace. 90s toy fashion at its finest! The Lion King, Sonic and Micro Machines were my favourite Sega games (along with Aladdin!), although I was awful at Mirco Machines. My brother aced that. And Sky Dancers were lethal toys. I definitely think at 90s childhood beats the kids growing up today.

Ahhh memories! Goosebumps used to be on CITV, a couple of the episodes really stick in my head! I dont remember reading many of the books because they used to scare me, but there was one where you could choose the fate of the characters by flicking to different pages!
I loved my Sky Dancer, and I totally forgot about Sabrina's Secrets! I used to collect that too and I had a few of the books.

Beautiful Life as I know it
I LOVE this post, all my stuff got chucked away when, foolishly, you decide you don't need them anymore in your early teens. Damn me! I especially love the Goosebumps books, I used to have one that when you pressed it the eyes on the front flashed green.

Polly Pocket, my little pony and Sabrina! Throw some hopscotch and building a house in a tree in there and we can honestly say we had the best childhood in the last (and current) century!
Beautiful article

Sky dancer dolls! me and my sister both had one of those, they were absurd contraptions (basically made for kids to create havoc with them). Our cats were terrified of them! Needless to say we would ‘battle’ our sky dancers by flinging them at the other. The dog on goosebumps used to freak me out! Those eye etched into my mind forever. But how good was it!? I had a long PP case, i think it was a house and it was a pinky peach colour with hidden stamps somewhere? I definitely remember having a bigger Polly pocket like she wasn’t so teeny (still smaller than regular dolls though) and i would attach a ‘parachute’ to her (aka a tissue paper and string) and throw her out my mums room window to land on the grass, dare devil Polly pocket.
Awh, you’ve made me all nostalgic :’)
