My new favourite fake tan!

Isle of paradise false tan reviewI went shopping for one thing as you do, and I somehow ended up in the fake tan aisle. I wanted to try a new self-tan, I was sick of stained bedsheets, light coloured clothes getting ruined, well marked, so I wanted to try a new brand. I remembered reading about Isle of Paradise somewhere and their new ‘tanning water’ which intrigued me. I have to say straight off that their range is 100% cruelty-free, organic and vegan as I know this will appeal to a lot of people.

I went for the darkest shade, as I usually would I do love a deep, dark tan. The darkest shade is the one in the purple bottle. I have been applying fake tan for years, generally in the mousse form, so I was a little bit apprehensive at this clear tanning water. I bought this for £18.95, so it was cheaper than the usual brand I had been buying.

Anyways, I got home, took a shower and exfoliated. A few hours later I took out my trusty tanning mitt and applied the tanning water as if it was foam, rubbing it in, in circular motions. I applied 2-3 layers as it is buildable and as I said I do like a dark tan.

The smell is lovely; it reminds me of Palma-violets, the little sweets from when I was a kid…but after a few hours it does fade and only ever so slightly is there a hint of fake tan scent; this doesn’t bother me as with other brands you can smell it a mile off.

The reason this is my new holy grail is that it doesn’t transfer, hurrah! I didn’t end up with red tanning marks all over my pyjamas, towels or lovely white bed-sheets!

Now for the colour, I kid you not, I went in to work in a playsuit, and everyone commented on my tan and how brown my legs are. When I told them it was a new fake tan they couldn’t believe it was from a bottle because it looked “so even” their words not mine. I went such a gorgeous golden shade; there was no orange tint or dirty brown look here, I went the tone I do in the sun! Seriously impressed.

This tan lasts around 4-5 days on me, and then I do need to exfoliate it off and start a-fresh! I love that it doesn’t dry my skin out at all, I have quite dry sensitive skin already so this is another bonus!

I’ve heard so many good things about this tan. It sounds like it gives the best finish, and the colour of it sounds great too. I’m definitely going have to look out for these xx

Thanks for the review! This product sounds great – I only heard about the Isle Of Paradise a few weeks ago but still haven’t tried any products of theirs yet. I am curious though – is this tanning water only enough for one application? I would love to try it but I’m a bit skeptical as to how small the bottle looks… x
