My lockdown skincare saviours!

L'occitane face cleanser L’Occitane Oil to milk cleanser.
As an oily skinned girl, I used to shy away from any skincare products with the word oil in it, for the fear I’d end up looking like an oil slick. Changing to an oil cleanser has really transformed my skin and if anything it’s made my skin less oily, yes really! My skin used to be dehydrated producing excess oil, leaving me a greasy mess. I was no stranger to foundations sliding off my forehead and t-zone within an hour or so of applying (even with powders and setting sprays!) them it’s true what they say good make up, starts with good skincare! This cleanser from L’Occitane melts away make up and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I apply the cleanser to dry skin and as I add water it lathers to a creamy milky texture (it even removes waterproof mascara and eyeliner in one use!) Whilst it’s tough on make-up it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all, it’s also infused with anti-ageing immortelle which in my opinion is just an added bonus!L'occitane 25% Shea cream body L’Occitane Ultra rich body cream.
Even though it’s summer and the sun has got his hat on I love this 25% ultra-rich shea butter body cream from L’Occitane. It’s super nourishing and sinks into my skin so quickly. There’s no sticky feeling or greasy residue with this body cream, I apply it day and night after showering, the scent reminds me of baby powder, I love it! I suffer from eczema flare-ups on my legs and this soothes and nourishes it instantly. A note for the fellow fake-tan lovers I find this moisturiser doesn’t strip my tan either, I apply it before and after tanning and haven’t had any issues!
Elemis duo marine cream skincare Elemis Pro-collagen marine cream & oxygenating night cream.
I have been a fan of Elemis for many years, this duo is now my skincare go-to. I tried their pro-collagen marine cream a few years ago but it didn’t seem to agree with my skin at the time, I felt like it would “ball-up” on my skin after application. I realised I may have been applying way too much back then, as you do only need a small pea-sized amount when it comes to these creams! Just as well as they are expensive, but worth it in my eyes. I don’t mind investing in staple base products when it comes to skincare (I’m the same when it comes to foundations!) I apply the marine cream in the morning and the oxygenating night cream before bed, I have been using both of these for over two months now and I am really happy with the improvement I have seen in my skin, especially the thin lines on my forehead. My skin feels soft, hydrated and I’ve even seen a improvement in my pores! My oily-combination skin is nice and hydrated without being too rich or heavy under make-up!

A skincare staple I have to mention but couldn’t photograph (as I’ve scrunched up the tube so much during lockdown) is Blistex  intensive lip cream. I used to pick up a tube everytime I went into Home Bargains, I’ve tried many a lip balm over the years at many different price points but this remains my favourite tube style lip cream. It is the only thing I have noticed to keep my super chapped lips at bay for days at a time after application!

What are your skincare saviours or staples during lockdown?
I hope you’re all as safe and as well as you can be in these difficult times!

I might want to try the L’Occitane Oil to milk cleanser – It sounds really good! My own saviour has been Jojoba oil because I have very dry but sensitive skin. I mostly blend it in with my night cream. 🥰
