Mini smarties cookies stuffed with Nutella

mini smarties nutella cookies

I made three batches of these for my mum to take into her work. The first lot of cookies looked kind of plain, so I added mini smarties to the next two batches for a pop of colour and yet more chocolate. Here’s what you will need I found the recipe here, whilst browsing pinterest.. you know how that goes.
1 cup of unsalted softened butter
1 cup of  white sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar
2 fresh eggs
1 1/2 tsp of salt
1tsp of vanilla essence
1tsp bicarbonate of sofa
a lot of mini smarties
3 and a 1/2 cups of plain flour
1 jar of nutella (refrigerated)
First things first, put your jar of Nutella in the fridge. Pre-heat the oven to 180. Line three trays with baking paper. Whisk the butter and two sugars together until they’re nicely combined. Add the eggs and whisk well, then add vanilla. Finally add the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda. Until it forms a dough.

Pour in as many mini smarties as your heart desires, take your three lined baking trays, scoop some cookie dough and roll it into a small ball and place them onto the trays. I then used the back of a teaspoon to create a little pocket in the cookie dough, fill this with a drop of Nutella (from the fridge, it’s less messy this way) and then cover the Nutella with more cookie dough.

Place them in the oven for around 10-11 minutes and you should have something that looks like this. i think they’re best eaten warm, straight from the oven. Look at that gooey Nutella centre, drool.

OK well I need these in my life immediately. The only trouble is, I then tend to eat the rest of the jar of nutella…not ideal!
