Meet Rosie!

It is so lovely to be able to be back blogging again! After a few technical issues, that are thankfully are all sorted now! If you follow me on over on Instagram you will have already met this cutie. Meet Rosie, our Basset Fauve De Bretagne puppy!

I wanted to document it on here as it is nice to write something longer than an Instagram caption from time to time. We picked Rosie up when she was nine weeks old. We couldn’t have asked for a better breeder. This breeder refused to breed during a lockdown and wouldn’t even put us on the waiting list without meeting us first to see if we were serious and the right fit for her pups.

I always thought I would get another Dachshund but after Oscar’s heartbreaking experience with IVDD (which I will go into in another blog post (he is doing all good at the moment by the way!), we looked for another breed. We found there are lots of Basset Fauves that live happily with Dachsunds (both seem to be stubborn little things, but we are used to that!)

Funnily enough, we did an online quiz on which dog is right for you and this breed came up, we hadn’t even heard of it before! I believe there are only six breeders in the whole of the UK, so they are quite rare over here as Basset Fauves are a french breed!

This little girl is so playful and has such a bright personality and has done wonders for my mental health. I’ve got lots of news to share but now my blog is back up and working, I can’t wait to share everything with you! I have missed this little corner of the internet.
