So it’s the final challenge of the GBBO cake that challenge with the Euphorium Bakery. I decided to bake a chocolate Bundt cake, topped with icing flowers, mini oreos and lilac buttercream frosting.
So here’s the recipe
375g plain flour
1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 a teaspoon of salt
600g of caster sugar
5 eggs
225g of softened butter
110g of margarine
60g of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
250ml of milk
Preheat the oven to 170, grease your bundt tin. In a bowl sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Then set that to one side.
In a large bowl add the butter, eggs, margarine and vanilla extract and whisk until it’s light and fluffy. Add the flour mixture and then add the milk, whisk extremely well.
Pour the mixture into a well greased bundt tin, leave it to bake in the oven for around 70 minutes, test it with a skewer and if it comes out clean, it’s done. Let the bundt cake cool for around 15-20 minutes in the tin and then remove.
Let the cake cool completely then add decorations of your choice / buttercream frosting.
Oh gosh, if this isn't food porn, I don't know what is! It looks so delicious (maybe even too good to eat?!) but I bet it requires patience to make, so well done 🙂 xx
