A surprise weekend in the Lake District!

One weekend my boyfriend surprised me with a weekend away in the Lake District (one of my favourite places to visit!) I feel lucky enough as it is to find someone who makes me laugh every single day and then he pulls this out of the bag? What a keeper.

I have honestly never stayed in somewhere so high-tech. There is a mirror opposite the bed that is remote-control operated to move in and out from the wall that turns into a TV screen; seriously cool. There was a hamper of goodies waiting for us on the table, including a giant bar of galaxy, fruit and a bottle of prosecco!

a surprise weekend in the Lake DistrictI love visiting the Lakes any time of year but I think it is particularly beautiful in the autumn months. We wrapped up and had a drive into Windermere to enjoy the scenery and a hot chocolate. In true Lake District style, it wasn’t long before it was pouring down so we headed back to the apartment to dry off. And to make the most of that incredible Jacuzzi bathtub!
breakfast hamper Lake DistrictEvery morning a breakfast picnic basket was dropped off for us and left in the passageway. Inside the cutest basket ever was fresh croissants, pots of jam, pastries, fresh bread, orange juice and mini boxes of cereal. (The best kind.)

We went for tea in the evening at the ‘Sun Inn’ pub right in the centre, it was full of dogs, almost one under every table; as you can imagine I was completely in my element. The minute I sat down at the table this cutie came and sat by my side. I ordered Pork underbelly  with beetroot slaw and skinny fries, my boyfriend had the trio of home-made sausages,  with mash and onion gravy. I would absolutely recommend this pub if you’re in the area, the food was delicious.hawks head sun inn It was so nice to spend the weekend relaxing, walking and binge-watching the ‘Haunting of Hill house on Netflix’ whilst eating my body weight in Guylian sea-shell chocolates (sorry not sorry.)

The apartment looks both boho and modern/tech-y! It’s like, just enough tech to help you enjoy the slow life <3 What a lovely autumnal getaway :') I've had many evenings of hot chocolate these past few weeks, and now you've got me craving Guylian seashell chocolates too! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
