Aloha from Hawaii! I was recently lucky enough to visit this beautiful bucket list destination with my lovely boyfriend and his family. As I have so many photos to share with you guys; I will be splitting this into two separate posts.
We arrived late at night; a little frazzled and jet-lagged from the long-haul flight but we were so excited when we saw our Air BnB. I mean look at it, we felt like we were in an episode of MTV Cribs. I felt so lucky to wake up in such a stunning location every morning. After a few hours of broken sleep, at around 6:00 am I noticed the sun coming up, the sky was full of pinks and reds. Thanks to jetlag everyone else in the house was also wide-awake from about 4:00 am. I didn’t mind at all as I wanted to spend every minute enjoying this gorgeous place. After breakfast and sitting by the pool (it was 30 degrees by 8:00 am) we headed to the local shopping centre, to do a food shop and explore the local shops. There was a huge Macy’s, a Whole Foods, a Chilli’s (Welcome to Chilli’s RIP Vine) and more. After buying a few Anastasia Beverley Hills goodies from Macy’s; we went to Whole Foods and grabbed two pizza slices for lunch. We drove along the coast of Honolulu I have never seen water so blue; it didn’t look real. We sat on Lanikai beach(Kailua) and had a paddle in the sea before grabbing some food at Buzz’s I mean… if it’s good enough for Obama it’s good enough for us.After lunch, we got back in the car and drove to North Shore we wanted to try and see some turtles. We stopped off at Turtle Bay resort for ice creams and cocktails then we headed to Laniakea ‘Turtle beach’ and we were not disappointed. We felt so lucky to be able to see this beautiful creature; a Hawaiian sea turtle in its natural habitat. It might sound a little stupid, but I had no idea they were quite so large in real life! This turtle was an adult female weighing in at over 250lbs, she was 50 years old, her name is ‘Hiwahiwa’ meaning the precious one.We sat and watched the sunset as the sky changed from blue to pink, to purple. I can honestly say it was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen.
